phoenxi8Suzie 35Evieoop0000Our K9 Comfort dogs spent last week in Phoenix at the Best Practices in Ministry Conference at Christ Lutheran Church. Over 1,000 people attended and listened to 200 speakers share ministry for today. The Extra Mile brought five dogs from teams in Florida, Kansas, AZ and CA. We also taught three workshops on the purpose of our ministry of renewing faith and restoring hope. It was a great opportunity to let the nation know how Extra Mile K9 Comfort  dogs bridge ministry to those in crisis with  experienced handlers called “Mercy Givers”. The  Extra Mile begin this ministry 11 years ago and helped trained groups like LCC K9 Comfort dogs that also attended the conference. Chaplain Ralph the director of EMM said “it was great seeing our work paying off in groups like LCC”.

The Extra Mile Crisis Team is made up of a variety of breeds of dogs with the purpose of bringing a sense of safety to people in crisis or grief. Thanks again to all who made our time in Phoenix a Blessing.
