Posted on: May 7, 2014

The Extra Mile K9 Crisis Response Team Southern Region has been and will be deploying comfort dog teams to help alleviate the emotional pain that comes in the aftermath of the recent tornadoes and flooding. Helping to “renew faith and restore” trained handlers  use K9 Comfort dogs as bridges for healing and mercy to listen and provide safety during such tragic times.

Chaplain Ralph the director of the Extra Mile said people need “safe places and safe people ” and petting the  comfort dogs help people  feel safe and hopeful again. We have teams in Pensacola, FL, Tupelo,MS, Louisville, MS and  Jackson MS.

We use a variety breed of dogs from large to small as long as they can bring a sense of safety to people in crisis or grief. The dogs are friendly, healthy and well behaved. They are able to adjust to a variety of different environments in calm ways. If you are interested in becoming a part of our ministry contact us at
